MAGICBIOMAT has joined the European Bioeconomy Network (EuBioNet), becoming part of a wider community of European projects and initiatives working across the bioeconomy.
The new connection provides an opportunity for MAGICBIOMAT to strengthen links with other European initiatives, exchange knowledge and explore opportunities for collaboration around shared challenges and priorities.
MAGICBIOMAT is developing circular bio-based materials with programmed biodegradability, focusing on two applications: mulching films and paper-based packaging. These materials will be tested under open-environment conditions, including soil, freshwater and marine environments, and across different European climates. The project is also developing an AI-powered tool to support the design and manufacturing of novel materials according to their application requirements and end-of-life conditions.
Alongside its technical research, MAGICBIOMAT places strong emphasis on stakeholder engagement, consumer acceptance, communication and knowledge exchange. The project brings together expertise in bio-based materials, biodegradation, circularity, artificial intelligence, social sciences and environmental assessment.
Joining EuBioNet complements MAGICBIOMAT’s efforts to build connections and synergies with other EU-funded projects and initiatives. The project foresees collaboration through information exchange, joint initiatives and cross-participation in events and activities, helping to maximise the reach and impact of its work.
We look forward to connecting with the EuBioNet community and sharing knowledge, experiences and opportunities for collaboration as MAGICBIOMAT progresses.
