A Comparative Study on the Compatibilization of Thermoplastic Starch/Polybutylene Succinate Blends by Chain Extender and Epoxidized Linseed Oil

❗New publication from MAGICBIOMAT

MAGICBIOMAT aims to advance the development of circular and biodegradable materials. In this context, MAGICBIOMAT partners Technological University of the Shannon, have co-authored a new scientific paper titled “A Comparative Study on the Compatibilization of Thermoplastic Starch/Polybutylene Succinate Blends by Chain Extender and Epoxidized Linseed Oil.”

The study explores how to enhance the compatibility between thermoplastic starch (TPS) and polybutylene succinate (PBS), two bio-based polymers with limited miscibility that affect processing.
By offering the first comparative assessment of these compatibilisers, this research provides valuable insights for developing optimised TPS/PBS blends with improved properties for sustainable applications.
